The phone was nearly disconnected before someone finally picked up.

"Desmond... can you help me?"

Audrey's voice came through, tinged with sobs, but Desmond felt not a ripple of emotion within him.

His tone was indifferent, "How do you want me to help you?"

"I... You must have seen the post, which Maya put on Twitter, and now everyone hates me. Some are even threatening to kill me. I'm so scared!"
