Before Brooke could finish, Kaelen cut her off. "You don't know what you're talking about."

He turned on his heel and strode away without another word.

Declan watched him go, suspicion coiling in his stomach. 'Why weren't their stories matching up?' he thought.

Declan turned his attention back to Brooke. "Ms. Sloane, are you and my uncle together?"
