Clara's face visibly tensed up after hearing Kaelen's words. She steadied herself, then immediately pushed him away. "Mr. Vance, don't be ridiculous."

"I meant every word." Kaelen was pushed back slightly, but suddenly seized Clara's arm again in one fluid motion. This time, he pinned her firmly against the driver's side door.
