KIER'S POV

Many years ago...

The sound of a slap echoed inside the library. Not that it surprised me. Father always had a nasty temper. I flipped through another page of my book as another sound of slap resounded.

"You imbecile!" Father bellowed. It was not the first time Father had reacted like that, especially when it came to my twin brother.

"I merely did what I had to do, father. Isn't this wh
