“Rowan!”

The scream in my mind caused me to shuffle in my sleep, but I rolled to the side and tried to find sleep again.

“Rowan, help me!” There it was again—louder this time, and oddly more familiar.

I tried to nudge at my subconscious, knowing that there was a chance this was a dream, yet it felt like I was waking up.

“Rowan, please!” She cried this time, and that’s when my heart stopped
