I gently nudged open Kaelen's bedroom door, my heart melting at the sight before me. Damon was asleep, holding Kaelen's bedtime storybook to his chest. Kaelen, nestled comfortably in Damon’s arms, looked so peaceful. I felt a warmth spread through me. Quietly, I tiptoed into the room, pulling the covers up over them to keep the chill at bay without disturbing their peaceful sleep.
