I followed Alpha Gideon out of my room slowly, my steps dragging on the floor as if my legs didn’t want to move.

I paused at the door and stared at my small space one last time. The walls still carried the shadows of my tears… my loneliness… the fear I hid every night. It wasn’t the best place, but it was familiar. It was mine.
