I went back to my room, feeling strong. In three days, I would finally be free from all of this. Free from him. Free from the pain.

Free from the pack that never wanted me. The thought made me smile, even if the smile was bitter. I pushed the door shut behind me and leaned on it for a moment, letting out a shaky breath I didn’t know I was holding.
