Vivian and Jared went to the hospital. Standing in the brightly lit treatment room, she watched silently as the doctor in the mask cleaned Jared's wound with iodine with a cotton swab.

Jared grimaced in pain. Even so, he did not cry out in pain. A few minutes later, the two of them walked out together.
