Cold nose. Warm breath. Soft weight across my ribs.

“Selah,” I mumbled, eyes still closed. “You’re hogging the blanket again.”

Something purred.

I frowned, reached blindly, and felt fur slide under my palm.

My eyes snapped open. A cat blinked at me from my chest—black, slit-eyed, tail flicking like it owned my bed.

“Where did you come from?” I pushed up on my elbows. “Where is she?”
