I was awakened by a light knock at my door.

I blinked a few times, then looked at Clara, who was sleeping soundly next to me. Although she looked peaceful while asleep, there was a red shade below her eyes from crying.

"Did we overdo it with her?" I silently asked Rufus.

"Yes, you took her savagely," he answered without hesitation.

I groaned softly, then shifted to the side and sa
