Steam filled the spacious bathroom, fogging the glass shower doors and creating a dreamy haze in the dimly lit space. I stood under the hot spray, letting the water sluice over my body, washing away the grime and tension of the past twenty-four hours. My muscles ached from the strain of combat and stress, but there was also a strange new energy flowing through me, a residual effect of
