As I lay on the floor, Jace burst into the main room of the packhouse, finding me injured and bleeding. He cursed under his breath, and I saw the worry in his eyes as he quickly assessed my injuries.

"Hey, hey, stay with me," Jace said, kneeling beside me and gently placing his hands on my wounds to slow the bleeding. "I brought a healer. We're going to get you patched up."
