Going down to dinner felt surreal. Staff bowed to me respectfully, and a discreet butler showed me the way to the dining hall.

Sybil and Gareth were already seated at a long, mahogany table when I arrived. When he saw me, Gareth jumped up and pulled out my chair, smiling from ear to ear.
