Tears spilled down my cheeks, soaking the rough collar of my hospital gown. The crushing weight of the truth settled over my chest, making every breath a battle. I would never get the chance to meet my biological parents. The realization shattered something deep inside me. They were murdered the very night I was torn from my crib as a helpless infant.
