The conversation Myla overheard stayed in the back of my mind for several days. She had mentioned it casually during breakfast, and at the time it had seemed harmless.

People asked security questions all the time. At least that was what I told myself.

The estate felt calmer than it had in months. For the first time in a long while, nobody seemed to be waiting for the next disaster.
