LYDIA'S POV

I reached up in the dark, framing Callum's sharp jawline with both of my hands. I rubbed my thumbs gently over his cheeks, forcing him to look me straight in the eye.

"Listen to me, Callum," I said softly, keeping my voice steady. "Nothing is going to happen to me, and nothing is going to happen to Hazel. Do you know why? Because you are here with us. You are protecting us."
