The drive to Hazel’s kindergarten was a blur of gray concrete and flashing streetlights. I drove myself, gripping the steering wheel of the blacked-out sedan so tightly my knuckles turned white.
Inside the quiet cabin of the car, the silence was deafening. My mind kept looping back to what Desmond had said. Hazel iced her out. Didn't say a single word to her.
