CASSIAN’S POV

A sharp, pounding pain in my head woke me up. I blinked hard against the bright morning light, realizing I was lying on the stiff couch in Dane's living room.

I hadn't gone back to my own house the previous night. I had spent the entire evening right here on this couch, drinking until my brain went completely numb.

I had left my place in total chaos, driving over to Dane's house in n
