Cleo sat quietly in the car. When she saw Kendra chuckle, she asked curiously, "Kendra, what's got you so happy?"

Kendra smiled smugly at Cleo, mischief dancing in her eyes. "Oh, it's nothing—just saw something funny back there. We're almost home. Excited?"

Cleo lowered her head, sounding sulky. "I'm not excited. I don't want to see Daphne. Didn't Dad kick her out? She said she'd never come back.
