He returned to the room about ten minutes later. I took the opportunity to search for my phone, check my messages, and also send a threatening message to Chloe and Hazel. I wouldn't let them know yet how wonderful the gift had been, in a way.

"Ready?" He looked at me, standing in the doorway.

"Yes."

I left my phone on the nightstand and crawled to the edge of the bed.

"Do you need help?"
