With hands shaking and her breathing labored, Lydia Sinclair struggled to dial Kay's number.

"Hello?" She heard Kay's voice on the other line. "Lydia? It's been a while? Why are you calling at this hour? How are you?"

Lydia's lips were trembling and her heart felt like it had been crushed to a million pieces. A tear fell down her cheek as she asked, "Why - Kay, why?"
