Chapter Twenty-Seven

When I woke, I sensed a dramatic change in the air. We were outside now, no longer underground, and the air was dry and warm. I tried to move, but was annoyed to find myself still heavily chained. They had me on some kind of dolly, Hannibal Lecter style, so they could move me while I was shackled.

I was wearing the awful red dress, as Aethra had promised. It was cherry red with black lac
