Chapter Thirty-Four

I scampered through the streets, choking on the smoke as I got deeper into the city. The dragon was easy to lose once I ducked under a few gates. I was disoriented, though. I wasn’t sure what direction to go, and with no sun and no way to see the stars, I had no bearings.

*’Thalia?’* I tried the link. *’Please tell me you made it.’*

There was several seconds of pause before she got back to
