Winter passed without incident. As soon as the ground thawed, Rylan was hurrying me to get the fences done. He had also ordered the construction of several large bunkers, enough space for the more vulnerable pack members to keep safe during a dragon attack. I was in charge of all the finer details, and I sat in my office discussing numbers with the head of construction when Rylan linked m
