Chapter Twenty Two

This was my first night witnessing true vampire behavior. Women dressed in lingerie and costumes were brought in and, to my horror, fed on. Lucien reassured me that they were all bittens, and the blood was like a drug to one another. He made sure to pull me aside and explain this to me. He didn't want me to be scared.

"Listen, Evie, we don't drink human blood. I promise" Lucien began explaining t
