I paced up and down my room, tightly gripping my phone in my hands. It was two hours until dinner began, and Alana was still not picking up my calls. I had texted her yesterday so we could talk about what happened, but she told me she was busy, and when I tried to call her, her phone was switched off. I had been calling all day so I could tell her not to come for the birthday dinner.
