The Blood Splatter

Author's POV

Lydia sat stiffly in the back of the luxurious SUV, her hands clamped together in her lap. The cold leather seats offered zero comfort against the deep, crawling unease settling in her chest. She maintained a rigid posture, keeping a clear physical distance from Gideon, who sat beside her in the spacious cabin. He was a mafia enforcer, a dangerous criminal who killed for a living. Though he attempted polite conversation to ease the suffocating tension inside the vehicle, Lydia offered only stiff nods and single-word replies.

She knew exactly what he thought of her. He knew she was degrading herself, sleeping with Lucian Castello for money to pay off a debt. The shame of being a purchased body burned hot in her throat. Earlier, under Mr. Vargas’s strict orders, she had been pulled from her routine to inspect specific, restricted financial transactions at an off-site location. Gideon was assigned to escort her. Now, staring out the tinted window at the passing city lights, Lydia wished she could just disappear.

The vehicle descended into a sprawling, underground parking garage. The sheer number of expensive sports cars and luxury sedans lined up in the bays signaled money—dirty, untraceable mafia money. Gideon opened her door, gesturing for her to step out.

"Come, Lydia."

"What is this place, Gideon?" she asked, her voice tight as they approached a pair of heavy steel elevator doors.

"This is a BDSM club," Gideon replied in a casual tone, as if naming a grocery store. "The Chief owns it. We suspect the manager is messing with the profits. You are here to check the financial statements and run an audit."

Lydia swallowed hard, her throat suddenly dry. A BDSM club? Did Lucian frequent this place? He had tied her wrists before, but the thought of him bringing her to a place like this made her skin crawl.

The elevator doors chimed open, revealing a dimly lit, velvet-lined corridor. A massive bouncer, built like a brick wall, stepped forward. He thrust a thick arm across Lydia’s path, aggressively blocking her way.

"Miss, your dress code violates club rules," the bouncer grunted.

Before Lydia could take a breath, Gideon stepped up. His friendly demeanor vanished, replaced by a lethal, predatory stillness. He locked eyes with the bouncer and snarled, "Keep your hand in its place if you love your life."

The bouncer looked at Gideon, recognizing the enforcer. Panic flashed in his eyes. He quickly lowered his arm and stepped aside. "Sorry, I didn't know she was with you."

"Then ask, idiot," Gideon spat, waving Lydia forward.

Lydia stepped past the velvet curtain, and the sights inside hit her like a physical blow. The air was thick, smelling of sweat, copper, and raw sex. It was a sprawling dungeon of flesh and metal. Naked women were bound fast in heavy iron chains, suspended from the ceiling or kneeling on padded mats. Thick leather collars circled their throats. Agonizing whimpers and sharp cries echoed through the dark, cavernous halls. On a raised public stage, a naked submissive woman was strapped to a wooden cross, crying out as a dominant brutally whipped her back. The crack of leather against bare skin made Lydia’s stomach twist in pure terror.

She averted her gaze, only to witness something worse in a private alcove. A man stood over a bound woman, ruthlessly forcing a massive silicone dildo directly into her vagina. The dominant thrust the toy in and out of her genitals without holding back, stretching the pink flesh until the woman’s face turned blue from a mixture of lack of oxygen and extreme pain. There were no romantic illusions here, no gentle touches. Just raw, invasive force.

Lydia felt sick. The shame of her own forced situation under Lucian was bad enough, but seeing this—she couldn't fathom how anyone derived actual pleasure from this pain. Would the Chief eventually subject her to this level of brutal dominance? Would she end up naked on a stage, whipped until she bled for his amusement?

"This way," Gideon said, noticing her frozen state.

He led her away from the main floor and toward a heavily mirrored back office. The glass was one-way; from inside, they could see the dungeon floor, but the screams were muffled by thick soundproofing.

Behind a massive mahogany desk sat Conrad, the club's manager. He was a middle-aged man with dirty blonde hair and a sleazy mustache. When Gideon and Lydia walked in, Conrad stood up, flashing a disgusting, yellow-toothed smile. His lecherous eyes immediately dropped from Lydia’s face, raking over her breasts and hips.

"Gideon," Conrad greeted through a heavy Italian accent. "So nice to see you. And this beautiful girl..." He licked his lips. "So you finally got a new submissive toy, huh? Can we share? It's been long."

Bile rose in Lydia’s throat.

Gideon’s voice dropped an octave, carrying a dark, unmistakable warning. "Careful, Conrad. She belongs to the Chief."

Fear instantly replaced Conrad’s lechery. He stumbled back, raising his hands in sudden panic. "I didn't touch her! I swear!" The manager’s bravado vanished. Sweating, he gestured to a leather chair across the desk. "Please, take a seat, Miss. What would you like to drink? Water?"

Lydia ignored his offer, sitting down stiffly and pulling the thick ledgers and financial statements toward her. Gideon demanded Conrad hand over every single document. Conrad obliged, his hands trembling as he slid the paperwork across the wood.

Lydia focused on the numbers, letting her accounting skills take over. It was the only thing in this hellish world that made sense. She meticulously cross-referenced the daily cash flow with the digital entries. Her skilled eyes scanned the columns, tracing the phantom expenses and padded invoices. It did not take long. The math was blatant. Conrad was stealing nearly half of the club's massive profits, siphoning the money into offshore dummy accounts.

She looked up and nodded at Gideon, sliding the calculation sheet across the desk.

Conrad saw the final number circled in red ink. The color drained from his face. He began trembling, dropping to his knees on the carpet. "Gideon, please! We have been friends for so long. Little mistakes happen. I will fix it. Let it go!"

Gideon sighed heavily, pulling a piece of lint from his suit jacket. He spoke as casually as if discussing the weather. "You should have thought about it before fucking up. I can't do anything, Conrad. He has your family."

Conrad froze, his eyes widening.

"Your wife is already dead," Gideon continued in that same, flat tone. "Your son has already given back the money you stole. We were just here to confirm the exact amount missing. Your son must be dead by now."

Lydia stopped breathing. Gideon was talking about the slaughter of an entire family without blinking.

Conrad panicked. Realizing his family was gone and his own life was forfeit, a primal desperation took over. He lunged upward, snatching a loaded handgun from his desk drawer. He aimed the black barrel directly at Gideon, then at Lydia. Sweat poured down his face.

"Let me go, Gideon!" Conrad yelled, his hand shaking on the trigger. "Move aside! I can still survive!"

"Don't be a fool, Conrad," Gideon warned, not moving an inch. "You know him. You can't run."

"MOVE!" Conrad screamed.

Suddenly, the heavy office door clicked open.

Lydia didn't even need to turn around. An unforgettable, heavy masculine scent instantly filled the room—a mix of expensive cologne, dark tobacco, and pure danger. The temperature in the office seemed to drop ten degrees. The Chief had arrived.

Lucian Castello stepped into the room. His suffocating, deadly silence was his greatest weapon. He didn't say a word, didn't issue a command. He simply looked at Conrad.

Under the crushing pressure of Lucian’s unblinking stare, Conrad broke. The manager surrendered at once, his shoulders slumping as he silently shook. Defeated and terrified, Conrad turned the gun around and handed it over to his boss.

Lucian calmly took the weapon from Conrad’s trembling fingers. He didn't look at the manager. Instead, he turned his cold grey eyes to Lydia. He silently held out his empty hand toward her.

With a shaky, ragged breath, Lydia picked up the audit calculations. Her fingers brushed against his large palm as she placed the paper into his hand.

Lucian briefly glanced at the stolen amount written in red ink.

He didn't yell. He didn't ask for an explanation. Without uttering a single word, he raised the gun and pulled the trigger.

*BANG.*

The bullet tore directly into Conrad's kneecap. Bone shattered in a spray of blood and cartilage. Lydia's horrified scream stuck tight in her throat as Conrad collapsed to the floor, howling in sheer agony. He clutched his ruined leg, thrashing on the carpet.

Lucian stepped forward, his expression blank. He aimed downward.

*BANG.*

The next deafening bullet hit Conrad squarely in the stomach. The impact folded the man in half, blood soaking through his expensive shirt, pooling onto the floorboards.

Lydia was paralyzed, unable to look away from the gruesome execution. She was witnessing a man being butchered right in front of her.

Lucian finally aimed higher, pointing the muzzle directly at the back of Conrad's head.

*BANG.*

The bullet blew Conrad's brains out. The sickening, wet crack of his skull shattering echoed off the mirrored walls. A spray of dark red blood, grey matter, and bone fragments splattered across the desk and the floor.

Conrad’s body went limp, dead before it fully settled.

Lydia’s fragile sanity snapped. The metallic smell of fresh blood mixed with the lingering scent of the dungeon below. Absolute panic surged through her veins, freezing her lungs. Her vision blurred, the edges of the room turning dark. Her knees buckled under the weight of the trauma. The very last thing she remembered was fainting, falling backward, and hitting her head against something hard that she somehow knew wasn't the floor.
