Declan's face was grim. He'd worked out a surgery plan with Dr. Phillips, but now, Dr. Phillips had gone and changed it without even telling him.

Declan's voice was low and dangerous. "Who got to you?"

'Damn, this guy's sharp,' Dr. Phillips thought, a jolt of alarm running through him.

But he kept his mouth shut.

He said, "I'm heading into the OR. If you've got any questions, we'll talk after the
