“Nora? Easy on him, please,” Shirley said from the other side of the door, her voice soft and pleading.

Nora leaned against the door, holding her breath so she wouldn't be heard.

“Nora,” Shirley said again. When she realized Nora wasn't going to respond, she walked away.

Nora sighed, emotions racing within her. She was angry, jealous, but suddenly regret had joined the emotions. She moved away fr
