She didn't like that answer. She stepped closer to Soren, her expression softening. "Soren, come on. Why are you being like this? I transferred schools for you. I just want to spend time with you."

"Gwen, I told you, I need space."

"But—"

"I gotta go." Soren turned to me. "Let's go."

I shrugged and started walking.

Behind us, Gwen called out. "Soren! Don't just walk away from me!"
