A dull thud shattered the hallway's stillness as the heavy doors swung outward. Roman immediately gripped Nora's wheelchair handles, pushing her rapidly toward the exhausted lead doctor stepping into the corridor.

"Doctor, Stella…" Nora’s voice shook, laced with a fragile, desperate hope.
