A Battle of Wits

Chloe carried the large Lego Batman box to the center of the sunlit living room. She set the heavy cardboard down on the plush designer carpet and broke the factory seals. Hundreds of colorful plastic bricks tumbled out, forming a chaotic, rattling pile on the floor. She looked up at the silent boy standing a few feet away.

"Lachlan, how about a race?" Chloe offered, gesturing to the mountain of
