I couldn’t get his parting words out of my mind. The cryptic, gentle way Draken looked at me right before his heavy door clicked shut replayed in my head like a broken record. All weekend, every time I thought about that brief, intense moment in my hallway, my pulse hammered against my ribs. I tried to convince myself he was just being polite, saying the kind of encouraging things a goo
