The shrill sound of a phone ringing somewhere in the house makes her groan. Kira rolls over to ask Maverick to find her phone, only to find out that he isn’t in bed with her. His spot is cold, which means he has been gone for a long time. Curiosity makes her look at his pillow to see if he left a note for her. Maverick is fond of leaving her little love notes.
