Hearing her mother’s name causes Kira to freeze. Who was this man and how did he know her mother? He is partially in shadows so making out his facial features is hard for her. Maverick tenses beside her and from emotions coming from his, she can sense that he is ready for a fight, because one thing about the man in front of them is obvious from his scent.
