“I-“ Kaelia started, panicking like a wild rabbit ensnared in a thicket.
She took the smallest step backwards, hoping to all her existence that Prince Cassander did not notice her subtle retreat.
“You?” He countered, arching an irritated eyebrow at her.
“I-I can explain,” she stuttered, taking another step back.
She had to keep stalling for as long as she could so she could take flight.
