Elena's POV

“What are you doing?”

I gasped. “Can you stop scaring me?”

“Do you want me to knock next time?” He teased, tapping my shoulder but I shook his hand off. “Are you eavesdropping?”

“It's just— I don't understand what's happening.”

“It's complicated and the smile on his face disappeared.”

“What is?”

“I don't think I should tell you, Elena.” He took a sip of his drink.

I shook my head and l
