“Jesus! You scared me.” My voice was hoarse, shaky. It didn’t even sound like me.

She opened her mouth again, but still, no sound came out.

“Okay here.” I pressed the bottle to her lips, and tipped it a little bit.

She took a sip. Maybe two. Water dripped from her chin to my sleeve. I wiped it up rigth away. She went limp again. No. Hell no. Once was all I would allow her to collapse.
