“I’ll see what we can do about it.”

I forced a tight smile, resting my hands on the desk as I watched the man across from me fidget with his expensive cufflinks. He had already adjusted them at least three times in the last five minutes, but it didn’t seem to be helping his nerves.

“That will be great. I hope you can see the importance and urgency of this.”
