The Rude Stranger
The freezing night air immediately assaulted Serena’s bare skin the moment she stepped out of the back of the taxi. A sharp shiver racked her spine, prompting her to silently curse the skimpy, highly revealing outfit she had deliberately chosen for tonight's dangerous mission. The minimal, tight fabric offered zero protection against the biting chill, leaving her deep cleavage and long legs entirely exposed to the brutal elements of the city.
Her fingers brushed against the cold metallic casing of the injection hidden securely within the tight confines of her small designer purse. She ran a thumb over the smooth surface, double-checking that her weapon was safely tucked away and ready for use. Satisfied, she turned her attention to the towering, luxurious nightclub before her.
The heavy, thumping bass vibrated right through the concrete pavement, traveling up her high heels and signaling the chaotic, wild environment waiting inside. Serena knew that Corbin Vance was already waiting for her in the exclusive VIP section upstairs. Her stomach twisted into sick, heavy knots at the thought of him. But before she could even fathom facing the monster who had single-handedly ruined her life, she desperately needed liquid courage to numb her racing, terrified nerves.
Pushing through the heavy, velvet-lined doors, she navigated the packed, neon-lit dance floor. The air inside was suffocating, thick with the scent of expensive cologne, stale sweat, and spilled alcohol. Flashing strobe lights blinded her momentarily as she ignored the wandering hands of the crowd, heading straight for the glowing bar.
"Give me your strongest shot," she demanded, her voice tight.
The bartender nodded, quickly sliding a small glass across the polished counter. Serena picked it up without hesitation and downed the burning liquid in one swift, punishing gulp. The cheap alcohol scorched her throat, sending a rush of liquid heat straight to her belly. Slamming the glass down, she grabbed a second one, clutching it tightly as she physically turned toward the elevated VIP area to psych herself up for the impending confrontation.
"He deserves whatever is coming to him," she muttered to herself, her voice barely audible over the deafening music.
Lost in her dark thoughts and the crushing anxiety of her carefully laid plan, she took a blind step forward. She didn't look left or right, and she instantly collided hard with what felt like a solid brick wall.
Her drink sloshed over the rim of the glass, spilling in a messy splash right between them. The automatic apology died instantly on her lips as she tilted her head back to look at the obstacle.
It was a man, and he was dangerously tall. He was dressed impeccably in a sharp, tailored black suit that fit his broad shoulders and muscular frame like a second skin. His dark hair was perfectly tousled, framing a chiseled jawline and a pair of piercing, ice-blue eyes that seemed to freeze the air around them. He was, without a doubt, breathtakingly handsome.
A sudden, unbidden warmth crept rapidly up Serena’s neck, settling deep in her core. Her traitorous mind flashed with a fleeting, entirely explicit fantasy. She vividly imagined his strong, muscular arms wrapping tightly around her neck, choking her breath away as he roughly pinned her against a dark wall. She pictured his heavy frame pressing her down, his thick, hard cock driving and pounding relentlessly in and out of her dripping wet cunt, making her scream in filthy pleasure over the loud bass of the club.
But that intoxicating spell shattered into a million pieces the absolute second he opened his mouth.
"You know the club is big enough and well lit for you to actually see where you’re going," he stated coldly. His deep voice was laced with unmistakable disgust, cutting right through the noise.
Serena blinked, her explicit thoughts vanishing instantly.
"Unless, of course, you’re too busy chasing men to notice," the stranger continued, his tone dripping with sheer arrogance. "But you fools never learn to go after men who are actually willing to spend the night for a couple of dollars. Newsflash, they are over in that area."
He lifted a long finger and pointed directly toward the elevated VIP section. The exact section where Corbin was waiting.
Serena's initial awe instantly morphed into sharp, biting irritation. She glared up at the towering man, entirely offended.
"Excuse me?" she snapped loudly. "You can’t just go talking to people like that."
The handsome stranger merely offered a dry, humorless smile. His cold, calculating gaze deliberately raked over her exposed curves, taking in the skimpy dress, silently and harshly judging her worth right there on the dance floor.
"Save the innocent act," he said flatly. "I’ve seen your type to know exactly why you’re here."
Taken aback by his uncouth, staggering arrogance, Serena blinked in sheer disbelief.
"Do you really think every woman that comes here is a slut?" she challenged, stepping closer to him.
His ice-blue eyes flicked briefly toward the VIP section again. Following his gaze, Serena spotted Corbin Vance laughing obnoxiously with a group of people. When the stranger's piercing gaze returned to hers, it was absolutely brimming with pure contempt.
"No, only women who dress like you," he sneered, his handsome face twisting into mockery. "Women like you always find their way to men who are willing to spend. Just don’t spill anything else on your way up there."
The venomous insult stung deeply, striking a highly sensitive nerve. For a split second, a flush of humiliation washed over her, making her intensely aware of how little clothing she was actually wearing. But hot, righteous anger quickly chased away her fleeting embarrassment, making her blood boil. She wasn't a cheap slut. Her entire career, her hard work, and her entirely different motivations for being here tonight were absolute proof of that. She was here for cold, calculated revenge, not for a quick payout from some rich asshole. And she absolutely wouldn't let this arrogant, judgmental stranger define her or humiliate her on this dance floor.
"And men like you think you know everything, don’t you?" Serena smiled. It was a sharp, dangerous curve of her lips.
Without waiting for him to formulate a reply, she pivoted sharply on her high heels. She marched straight back through the crowd, heading directly toward the bartender.
"Here, can I get two glasses of that drink again?" she demanded, slapping a bill onto the counter.
"Coming right up," the bartender replied, quickly pouring the strong alcohol into two fresh glasses.
With the two full drinks gripped firmly in her hands, she stalked right back across the dance floor. Her eyes locked onto the arrogant man in the black suit. He was now heavily engaged in another conversation, his broad back turned completely to her.
"Hey!" she called out loudly.
The very moment he turned around to face her, his ice-blue eyes widening just a fraction in realization, Serena mercilessly tipped her hands forward. She emptied the entire contents of both sticky, freezing glasses directly onto his pristine, sharp suit. The dark, amber liquid splashed violently against his broad chest, soaking rapidly through the expensive fabric of his tailored jacket and white shirt in an instant, ruining it completely.
A collective gasp seemed to echo from the people standing nearby, but Serena didn't care about the unwanted attention. The handsome stranger stood completely frozen in absolute shock, his jaw tight as he looked down at his ruined, dripping clothes.
Placing the empty glasses deliberately onto the floor, an evil, satisfied glint flashed wildly in Serena's eyes. She stared right into his stunned, furious face, letting a wicked smirk take over her features.
"Bet you’ve never encountered a slut as crazy as me," she hissed.
