I knew she wouldn’t have anything nice to say to me. But I didn’t expect her to be this mean.

My first reaction was to yell back.

But she was Kaelen’s CFO. I knew I’d have to deal with her again on the Aurelia Metropolis project, so I decided to hold back for now.

“You got the wrong idea.” I said, trying to stay calm. “I have no special interest in Alpha Kaelen. We’re just partners.”
