At first, her words shocked the hell out of me. I had never done a boyfriend thing. Saying something is different than actually doing it. But I guess a fake boyfriend would for now. Because I needed those grades. That’s all. Nothing else. Trust me.

“Done,” I say, making a split-second decision. Once I got good grades, both of us would part ways. At the thought, my w
