Unlocking the penthouse apartment, I show Corinne around. Jace races up the hall, but I can tell she is nervous about being back in the city.

“You know you and Jace can stay at home with me and Lyra until you’re comfortable?” I remind her. She peers around, forcing a smile onto her face.

“Don’t be silly, besides you and Lyra need some time to yourselves, and some privacy.
