The Rescue and the Rage

Willa’s POV:

It all happened so fast.

Jade lunged at me with a speed I didn’t know she possessed, her fingers twisting into my hair so hard I felt the roots scream in protest. A sharp cry escaped my lips as she yanked me backward, her knuckles grazing the sensitive skin of my scalp.

“You fucking bitch!” she screamed, her voice a serrated edge that cut through the stale air of the apartment. “Y
